Lawrence Dyer

Lawrence Dyer is a full-time professional artist who paints in the South-West of England. He mainly paints seascapes and landscapes but also portraits. His preferred medium is oils. He can often be found on the wild beaches of North Cornwall painting outside.

Lawrence’s seascape painting ‘Widemouth Bay Looking West’ was recently selected for and exhibited in the Royal Society of Marine Artists 2016 Exhibition, administered by the Mall Galleries in London. In 2017 his painting 'At the Cliff Foot' has been exhibited in the same Royal Society of Marine Artists annual exhibition.

Lawrence’s paintings can also be found in many galleries across the South-West, such as Seventh Wave Gallery (Bude) and View Gallery (Okehampton). His work is also exhibited regularly, for example in Cornwall Open Studios.

Lawrence also does commissions for individuals, both of seascapes and portraits.

Biographical Details

Lawrence has painted all of his life, but until his 50's made his living as a college lecturer and website designer. Having then embarked upon a full-time painting career he has never looked back, selling his work in galleries across the South-West as well as online. He lives on a remote farm in Devon, close to the Cornish border and to Dartmoor, where he has his studio. He is also a published author of speculative fiction stories and an autobiographical book about life in a remote cottage.
