  • Romantics

    Tate Britain 9 August 2010  –  3 June 2012

    This summer, romance is in the air in the Clore Gallery. A major new nine-roomdisplay presents Romantic art in Britain, its origins, inspirations and legacies. Drawn from Tate's collection, it showcases major works by Henry Fuseli, JMW Turner, John Constable and Samuel Palmer, as well as newly-acquired works by William Blake. 

  • Yayoi Kusama

    Tate Modern 9 February  –  5 June 2012.

    The nine decades of Yayoi Kusama's life have taken her from rural Japan to the New York art scene to contemporary Tokyo, in a career in which she has continuously innovated and re-invented her style.

  • Damien Hirst

    Tate Modern 4 April  –  9 September 2012

    Damien Hirst first came to public attention in London in 1988 when he conceived and curated Freeze, an exhibition in a disused warehousewhich showed his work and that of his friends and fellow students at Goldsmiths College.

  • Edward Burra Exhibition

    22nd Oct 2011 - 19th Feb 2012

    Edward Burra Exhibition of his famous works at the Pallant House Gallery. Through a selection of around 70 major works this show will feature Burra's iconic images of everyday people at leisure in bars and clubs, the black culture of 1930's Harlem, the sub-culture of harbours and ports, his macabre dancing skeletons and stunning late landscapes. 

  • A Bigger Splash: Painting after Performance Art

    Tate Modern 7 November 2012  –  1 April 2013

    This exhibition will take a new look at the dynamic relationship between performance and painting since 1950.Contrasting keypaintings by Jackson Pollock and David Hockney, the exhibition considers two different approaches to the idea of the canvas as an arena in which to act: one gestural, the other one theatrical. 

  • David Hockney RA: A Bigger Picture

    Royal Academy of Arts from 21st Jan 2012 - 9th April 2012. 31 Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly, London, UK - David Hockney RA: A Bigger Picture' will span a 50 year period to demonstrate Hockney’s long exploration and fascination with the depiction of landscape. The exhibition will include a display of his iPad drawings and a series of new films produced using 18 cameras, which will be displayed on multiple screens and which will provide a spellbinding visual journey through the eyes of David Hockney. 

  • Sol Le Witt: Wall Drawing #1136,2004

    Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.  Exhibition is being staged from 17th Dec 2011 to 6th May 2012. Belford Road, Edinburgh, UK.  Visit the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art this season and experience an incredible painting by one of the masters of conceptual art. Sol LeWitt’s spectacular wall drawing will cover three walls in the Gallery, surrounding you in a world of vibrant colours.

  • Zarina Bhimji

    Zarina Bhimji - Exhibition is staged from 19th Jan 2012 to 9th Mar 2012 at the Whitechapel Art Gallery. Landscapes and buildings haunted by their layered histories are the protagonists in British artist Zarina Bhimji’s photographs and large-scale film installations. India and East Africa are the repeat locations for her poetic foray into the archaeology of place. 77-82 Whitechapel High St, London, UK

  • Lucian Freud My Father

    This exhibition is being staged at the Freud Museum from 25th Jan 2012 - 4th March 2012. This January, artist Jane McAdam Freud presents a large scale sculpture portraying her father Lucian Freud. It will be unveiled and exhibited for the first time in London’s Freud Museum – once home to her great grandfather, Sigmund Freud. 20 Maresfield Gardens, London, UK
