After a short period working as a layout artist for Freemans mail order catalogue and various art studios in London I moved to the Cornwall/Devon border in 1980 where I took part in running a small holding with my family and living the good life although the reality was a tough but fulfilling challenge.
My interest in wildlife stems from a childhood of messing about in ponds, butterfly collecting and trips to zoos. Deriving inspiration from other artists and Devon’s scenery I have continued to explore further subjects to paint. I now live in Totnes with my wife and two children, teaching art locally and producing wildlife paintings for an established card agency and magazine.
Studied at Dyfed College of Art, Carmarthen, South Wales and gained a Diploma in Wildlife Illustration and Diploma Membership of the Society of Industrial Artists and Designers.
Exhibitions include: Mall Galleries, London. Falle Gallery, Jersey.Mid Cornwall Galleries, Par. Lamplighter Studio, St Ives and many other galleries in the South West. Winner of the Professional Wildlife artist cup at Paignton Zoo in 2002. Totnes open Studios Events.
Commissions include Fine art greeting card designs for the Medici Society, London and Daryl Davies Fine Art. Illustrations for Devon and Cornwall County magazines.
