Andrea Frankham- Hughes
I have always had a creative soul. I remember sewing, sticking and making when I was a small child, under the loving guidance of a multi crafted family.
My passion for beads started about 15 years ago when I glimpsed a friends bead collection, took the inspiration and started making my own jewellery.
I love the colours and light of the Island of Portland where I live and work. The island is a constant moody inspiration.
My background is multi faceted. I've studied ceramics, printing, photography, art, tiara making, jewellery making and fashion design. I've designed clothes for New York and London showrooms and was a wardrobe mistress for The Questors Theatre in Ealing.
I've designed and made ranges for High Street retailers Jigsaw, Jigsaw Junior, Virgin Bride and for esteemed bridesmaids outfitters Kiss the frog and Madonna bought one of my Tiaras for her daughter Lourdes. Before moving to Dorset 7 years ago I ran a Window display deign company with my husband making props and windows for Harrods, Liberty, Selfridges, Burberry and Fenwicks, to name but a few
I now concentrate my creative energies on making one off and bespoke peices inspired by the breathtaking views of Lyme Bay from my studio.
