Keran Sunaski Gilmore
My name is Cornish, Polish & Irish, what a good mix. I love to walk with my dogs in the wind and the rain, when no one else is out. The smell of the wet hedgerows and the sound of the rain I find very inspiring. Winter is my time of choice, there is something very magical about the barren ground upon our hills especially where the ancient outcrops of rocks gather. The threat of thunder the changing light and the dramatic coast are an ever changing source of refreshing inspiration. I work mainly in watercolours but in a less traditional way, I use inks and acrylic as well as oils. When I am out I do hundreds of little sketches and colour swatches and the return to my studio to piece everything together. I aim to capture just a tiny glimpse of the ever changing light and mood of my beautiful Cornwall.
Worked since leaving school as a graphic artist/illustrator. Studied at Falmouth School of Art for my foundation diploma. Worked as a studio potter for a couple of years. Studied at Falmouth School of Art for my BA Hons Degree. AndI have been a proffessional painter ever since that. I have my own gallery in the heart of St.Ives. I show my work in several galleries.
