Profile: Lyn Marie Whiteman
Lyn Marie Whiteman originates from Buckinghamshire, where she loved living near the Chiltern Hills. Moving to West Dorset in February 2001, wishing still to be amidst beautiful landscapes, but more importantly, to be close to the sea.
Lyn is passionate about art, and very inspired by the beauty and movement of light across land and sea. This is reflected in her paintings. Always loving to capture the fleeting moment.
As a mature student, Lyn achieved her Diploma in Fine Art Painting and Drawing at Amersham and Wycombe College in 1988.
Lyn’s’ artwork is about space, freedom, expansion, light, colour and movement. Her paintings are in private collections Nationally and Internationally. Lyn has exhibited in The Paris Salon on two separate occasions with three individual pieces of work. Exhibiting in the Mall Galleries, and Westminster Gallery, London. Luxters Fine Art, Henley, The Red Gallery, Marlow, and in St.Ives.
Lyn works in most media: oils, watercolours, gouache, pastels, acrylics, acrylic inks, mixed media, watercolour and pastels, charcoal drawings. On stretched Canvas, Canvas Boards, Mount board and paper.
Subject range: Landscapes, Seascapes, Boats, Florals, Still Life, Life, and Abstracts.
In addition to being a Professional Artist, Lyn is also an Art Tutor/Workshop Facilitator/ Life Coach (LCA Accredited) and is also a Qualified Registered Polarity Practitioner, RPP. Lyn’s inspiration for her painting is her main passion, and the fulfilment of sharing, inspiring and encouraging others to paint and lead a happy, healthy and creative life, also features strongly in her personal goals.

In addition to being a successful Professional Artist, Dip.Fine Art Painting and Drawing HND, 1988 Amersham and Wycombe College, Buckinghamshire, Lyn is also an Art Tutor, (for 18 years) Workshop Facilitator/Self Development Workshop Weekends Professional Life Coach (Accredited) Qualified Registered Polarity Practitioner, Reiki Practitioner (Reyad Sekh Em) .
Her main passion is for her Painting, closely followed by the fulfilment of sharing and encouraging others to paint, and lead happy, healthy and creative lives which features strongly in her personal goals. Whilst working continually on her own development, Lyn runs workshops in Dorset in Painting/Self Development, for groups and 1:1's.
Lyn won 'The Professional Associate Major Award' at the SAA Exhibition in 1997, for Towards Dedham Village, in pastels.
