SALLY DAVIES
Sally Davies lives and works in North Chideock in South Dorset.
In the mid sixties, she went to Solihull art collage in the Midlands where among other subjects she studied photography, to which she has now returned after almost twenty five years designing ladies and children’s fashion under her own label.
She has always loved the world of flowers, plants and the beautiful landscape that now surrounds her, which features very strongly in her work.
She has full embraced the twenty-first century technology by using both her digital camera and computer to put her highly individual stamp on her work and to weave her own particular brand of magic into the subject-matter which so abundantly surrounds her
Most of her work starts with a high quality photograph and she then uses her watercolour work, computer technology and her imagination to produce a finished piece of work.
Sally's pictures are complex, some with an air of mystery depicting scenes out of this world, stimulating the imagination; some are layered bursts of colour and light that appeal to the senses; others are familiar local scenes with a subtle twist. All are thought provoking.
