I have always enjoyed making art, particularly figure drawing and painting. However, it was not until 2000 that, following loss of employment owing to ill health, I had time to concentrate on art. With the help of local artists, I began painting in watercolour and acrylics and exhibited at local art clubs. Soon after I discovered enamelling, and for the last three years I have been working from my studio, in the beautiful setting of a Victorian walled garden, looking across to the Mendip hills. An inspiring place to work. As well as wall art, I make bespoke lightswitches (see www.enamelart.co.uk for details). More recently I have also been making enamelled bowls and beads.

I have a BA(Hons) degree from the Open University where I studied mainly art history. I have attendeed the Bristol School of Art as a part-time student for 5 years, studying enamelling. I have also attended part-time courses at the University of the West of England. I am a Craftsman member of the Guild of Enamellers. My work is mainly to commission but I also make pieces to sell at my studio.

I am an enamel artist. I love the beautiful colours of enamel which can be transparent, revealing the metal beneath, or opaque. I make wall art, lightswitches and jewellery using a variety of techniques.
